Production: A long time ago, cognac producers used different types of cask to obtain a wide range of flavor and complexity. The FERRAND house is reviving this forgotten tradition. The PIERRE FERRAND Réserve cognac was stored in new oak barrels (350 liters) for the first few years. Later our cellar master used medium-toasted, used cognac barrels (350 liters). This was followed by a final aging in Banyuls barrels (225 liters). This ancient technique produces a unique cognac that highlights the great diversity of the legendary “Rancio Charentais”. This cognac is a blend of 7-10 year old cognacs and a small portion of 20 year old cognacs.
Bouquet: Delicate notes of vanilla, followed by dominant hints of red fruits and plums and merging with the scent of nuts, cinnamon and chocolate.
Taste: On the palate it is rich, full and balanced with spicy nuances and a hint of coffee. A complex sipping cognac with a long, characterful finish.
