Vignerons D’Oleron
D’Oleron
D’Oleron
Vignerons d’Oléron are committed to an approach that is more respectful of the environment and people. Some winegrowers have chosen organic farming. To respect this commitment, the cellar vinifies these cuvées separately to present the “Naturally” range to you.
Actaeon, the emblematic shell of this organic range, symbolizes the harmony between the ocean, the land, the men and women who cultivate this unique terroir: the island of Oléron.
Ile d’Oléron is also the cognac’s birthplace. Cognac is the DNA of Oléron viticulture. From generation to generation, winemaker’s know-how has adapted to the terroir to produce Cognacs with a strong identity that are floral and iodized due to marine environment. Company experience, know-how in distillation and island terroir resulted in developing company’s own brands of Cognac.

Grapes
Red grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc) are collected for red country wines and red Pineau. Ugni Blanc and Colombard grape varieties make white country wines, Cognac and Pineau. Sauvignon and Chardonnay grapes are for white country wines. The harvested grapes will offer mineral wines and spirits with iodized and fruity notes.
Maturation of wine
Cognac is a living product; during aging in oak barrels, the eau-de-vie is in constant contact with air. This makes it possible to extract from the wood the substances that give it its color and its final bouquet.
Aging takes place in French oak barrels for at least 10 years for an XO, 6 years for a VSOP and 2 years for a VS.
The grape musts are mutated with Cognac d’Oléron. It is then aged in the wood barrels for several years, depending on the wine.

Bouquet and aroma
A particular highlights of Vignerons d’Oléron are Boyard and Louis Pearl, atypical cognacs 100% Ile d’Oléron. Louis Pearl’s fruity and candied nose opens with notes of dried fruit, slightly spicy then intensifies towards almost milky woody touches giving it a unique character. Will be perfectly accompanied with lacquered duck and Chinese noodles.
Soleil d’Oléron Excellence is one of the oldest brands of Pineau des Charentes on the Atlantic coast. It is the oldest brand in our cellar, it was created in 1946. This wine is marked by aromas of citrus and apricot. During the tasting, the wine develops a round and aromatic palate with a lingering citrus finish. It sublimates scallops and accompanies with simplicity all goat cheeses.
