Sasbacher
Kaiserstuhl, that sounds royal. For us, it really is: the region and the complex ecosystem of the vineyard have earned our respect. We treat people and nature with openness, honesty and respect. And we mean cooperative seriously – for decades we have relied on this kind of cohesion to make a difference together.
Dedication and attitude: strictly selective grape harvest, deliberate area-wide yield reduction. We are one of the smallest in the Kaiserstuhl region, but with our wine qualities we are among the very best.

Grapes
The wines grow almost exclusively in the Sasbach area and come from the following eleven grape varieties in the list: Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris / Ruländer, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Silvaner, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Scheurebe, Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc.
Maturation of wine
All the wines are made using the classic method with the more complex maceration: The grapes ferment slowly with the skins until the colour and tannins are released from the skins. The wines are aged for a long time, preferably in wooden barrels, and the premium wines in barriques to aid the ageing process. The result is balanced, full-bodied red wines.
Bouquet and aroma
Truly imperial: Sasbach Pinot Noirs captivate with their ruby red color and typical Burgundy aroma reminiscent of blackberries.
Superb leading aromas: raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, cherries, red currant, figs, elderberries, plums, smoke, leather.
