Miquel Jané

Bodega Miquel Jané is a family run and owned farm with a tradition going back to the nineteenth century. The basic principles of the company are recognized organic farming, dry farming and low sulfites count.
Currently the fourth generation of the family continues to lead the business, working the land where they harvest grapes of the highest quality. In addition, care for the environment has made the way of making wine change so that today the farm is totally organic.
Since Bodega Miquel Jané believe in minimal intervention, they let the plant express itself without any irrigation. Precisely because of this, they do not believe in huge production, since they have a farm, not a factory.

Grapes
The farmers harvest grapes of the highest quality to make grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Xarel.lo, Parellada, Garnacha black, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvested early in the morning, it arrives fresh early in the morning, although dark in the cellar.

Maturation of wine
A maceration with the skins inside the closed press in order to extract all the aromas of the skin. Light pressing, static cold stripping and a controlled temperature fermentation, to maintain the aromatic potential of this variety. Aging in stainless to maintain maximum aromas.

Bouquet and aroma
Among the range of wines there is the star of the winery, Sauvignon Blanc, due to the exclusivity and good adaptation of this variety in the farms. The wine gives complex nose, with typical aromas of the variety (lychee, passion fruit, mango, melon, and pine apple) and floral notes. Masía Cal Costas, the most elegant wine, shows light touch of wood and vanilla due to the long aging in barrels, made up with the aromas of very ripe red fruit, with some shades of understory, balsamic and very fresh herbs.
Sauvignon Blanc is perfect to drink as it is, or with light dishes without intense taste.
Perfect pairing for Masía Cal Costas will be grilled lamb ribs, all kinds of sausages, cured sheep cheeses, or game meat.
