Arrocal
In the province of Burgos, there is a village called Gumiel de Mercado, a privileged place situated of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, since it has always been a town with a wine-growing tradition. Its structure is medieval and in the center of the town, there is a hill where our ancestors excavated the underground cellars to elaborate and preserve their wines.
Arrocal respects the land and the work of the grapevine of traditional form, continuing with the form of work that was inherited from the first generation. The main objective is to follow a sustainable viticulture, a true reflection of quality wines.
All processing work is done by gravity, minimizing the damage to the raw material.

Grapes
The family has 85 hectares, divided between the native varieties of Tinto Fino, Tempranillo (Red) and Albillo Mayor (White) grape varieties. The winery equipped with the latest technical advances, but above all was designed to respect family treasure to the maximum: the grapes.
Maturation of wine
There are 600 barrels in the cellar, of which 80% are French oak and the rest of American oak, where the wines grow the necessary time for the structure, without losing their identity.
Bouquet and aroma
The winery presents Arrocal Selección Especial. It is a frank wine, complex, open and very high aromatic intensity. A range of ripe black fruits, as plums, blackberries and cherries. Touches of rosemary and thyme flower. Complete its bouquet with balsamic perfumes, soft vanilla, black cocoa. Roasted and clean French oak. The wine is ideal pairing for meat dishes such as red meat, roast lamb, beef chop, without forgetting cured cheeses or foie gras.
Blanco de Guarda is Ideal companion with pasta dishes, semi-cured cheeses, salted meats and smoked fish, rice and grilled fish as with the turbot. On the nose there are notes of water pear, ripe apple, memories of stone fruit, with a mineral background with a slight balsamic touch that reminiscent of lemon thyme and lemon verbena accompanied by a light vegetable touch.
