Typical of Glengoyne’s single malts are fruity aromas of apples and pears. Nutty flavors are also typical in Glengoyne’s single malts. Like other Glengoyne whiskeys, this single cask whiskey from the MCCRAE’S series is characterized by its light, delicate character. The refill barrel is recognizable with light oak notes and corn, as well as aromas of pears, green apples and a nutty malt character. The taste is characterized by malt and tart fruit sweetness. It ends in a short, soft finish with notes of bitter bitter almonds. This means that no peat is used when malting the barley. Another special feature is the storage location of the barrels – the warehouse is across the street from the distillery. This is where Lowland begins. The distillery itself is in the extreme south-west of the Highlands (just across the street) and therefore Glengoyne is a Highland whiskey.
